Modern Slavery Policy

Modern slavery covers slavery, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking whereby individuals are deprived of their freedom and are exploited for commercial or personal gain as defined in the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Reef Recycling is committed to combatting slavery and human trafficking and acting with integrity in all dealings, relationships and supply chains. The same high standards are expected from all its staff, suppliers and anyone it conducts business with.

This policy applies to all employees, suppliers and other persons doing business with Reef Recycling.

Reef Recycling acknowledges that there is an inherent risk within a supply chain and undertakes combatting modern slavery by the adoption of the following policy measures.

All those working for Reef Recycling have a responsibility for the prevention, detection and reporting of modern slavery in any part of our business and supply chains.

  • Due diligence processes will be undertaken in relation to our supply chain and outsourced activities, with special consideration to countries that may not have adequate safeguards.
  • All supply chains are periodically checked to ensure the potential for slavery and human trafficking is minimised.
  • Training will be given to allow staff to identify the signs of slavery with special attention given to those members of staff who visit supplier sites.
  • Reef Recycling encourages anyone to raise concerns about modern slavery.
  • Recruitment practices are designed to ensure employees have correct paperwork and are eligible to work.
  • Recruitment agencies are required to provide assurances that adequate checks have been made on anyone they supply.
  • Equal opportunities are given to all employees with every effort made to ensure no discrimination takes place.
  • Reef Recycling will continue to develop its commitment to combat modern slavery and human trafficking.
